The Charter Awards is our bold and visionary bursary initiative, launched in 2023. Its mission is simple yet ambitious: to grow our Endowment so that we can provide 50 fully funded, means‑tested places at King’s - forever. 

Rooted in the School’s Royal Charter of 1541, which established the first 50 King’s Scholars nearly 500 years ago, the Awards reaffirm our centuries‑old promise: to offer life‑changing educational opportunities to talented and motivated young people, whatever their background. The Awards ensure that King’s remains a place where talent, potential, ambition, and character - not financial means - shape a pupil’s educational journey. 

Thanks to the tremendous generosity of our OKS, parents, and wider community, we have already welcomed five Awardees to the School since launching. This year brought another remarkable milestone: our first Awardee graduated, moving on to exciting plans beyond King’s. 

Watching these young people flourish has been truly inspiring. Their achievements demonstrate the profound impact that a transformational bursary can have - opening doors, broadening horizons, and helping bright futures take shape.  And there is more good news: with your continued support, another exceptional young person will begin their King’s journey this September.
